A new partner: ABB joins MADE4.0

ABB, a technology leader in electrification and automation joins MADE4.0, the Milan-based Competence Center specializing in supporting Italian manufacturing companies on the path to digitalization.

Milan, Feb. 24 – ABB and MADE – Competence Center Industria 4.0 begin a collaboration to promote orientation and training activities on innovative automation and electrification solutions, and to develop activities in the educational world, including with simplified robot cycle programming systems and advanced human-robot interfaces. Together they also plan to develop robot automation solutions based on innovative communication architectures enabled by 5G.

The goal in general is to transfer the culture of digitization, ease of use and sustainability, aimed at a maturation of SMEs, and for this, exchanges of expertise will also be organized through the organization of visits and workshops at ABB’s production sites. The collaboration will be able to rely on the know-how and expertise of ABB teams in Robotics, Motion and Electrification.

“MADE4.0 is a facility within which an SME can learn the potential of smart-factory enabling technologies and understand how to introduce them within its production processes to increase efficiency, productivity and reduce waste.” – Explains Marco Taisch, president of MADE4.0 – “In doing this, MADE4.0 relies on its partners, companies among the most important industrial realities, who make their technologies and knowledge available to fulfill the Competence Center’s mission. We are proud to add among our important partners one of the leading names in the automation and robotics industry, thus expanding the expertise we can make available to companies that turn to us. MADE – Competence Center is a partnership of companies, universities, and public bodies working together with a common goal, and from today we can count on a new important player.”

ABB is a technology leader in electrification and automation, helping to build a more sustainable and resource-efficient future. The Group’s solutions combine engineering know-how and software to optimize how assets are produced, moved, powered and used.
