Datalogic S.p.A. is a leading company in the industrial automation solutions sector, recognised for its commitment to technological innovation and the safety of production infrastructures..
Industry 4.0 has made OT (Operational Technology) infrastructures more connected and, therefore, more vulnerable to cyber attacks. To ensure the security and resilience of its production infrastructures, Datalogic has identified the need to adapt its cyber security level, in particular by complying with the international security standards IEC 62443.
The risk of cyber attacks on essential components of OT operations could compromise business continuity and the protection of sensitive data, making the implementation of advanced security strategies crucial.
The OT Cyber Security Assessment project provides a structured approach to identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in OT infrastructures, thereby raising their level of security.
Assessment Phase: The initial assessment, carried out at two production sites, will establish a security baseline, including vulnerability management. The OT network architecture, existing critical issues and current security level will be analysed.
Vulnerability Assessment and Risk Analysis: This phase involves the use of specific OT vulnerability scanners, with threat and risk analysis on peripheral systems, to provide a comprehensive view of weaknesses.
Security Evolution Plan: Once the target security level has been defined, a plan will be developed that includes technological and governance measures and architectural improvements, with the aim of mitigating the critical issues identified.
The technologies used include advanced OT vulnerability assessment tools and artificial intelligence-based threat detection systems. These will enable real-time monitoring and reduce response times to security incidents. The IEC 62443 standard will guide the entire adaptation and risk management process.
Increased OT infrastructure resilience, ensuring business continuity even in the event of cyber attacks or failures.
Improved security incident management through advanced monitoring systems, enabling faster and more effective response to attacks.
Compliance with international standards to align OT security with global best practices, increasing business credibility.
Reduced vulnerability and advanced protection for critical infrastructure, minimising risks to business continuity.
Enhancing Datalogic’s reputation by demonstrating a concrete commitment to OT security, a crucial factor for customers, partners and regulatorsi.
Internal capacity enhanced through new cyber security skills and methodologies, applicable to all production sites, promoting a corporate culture of security.
Thanks to MADE4.0, Datalogic S.p.A. is strengthening the OT security of its industrial infrastructures with the OT Cyber Security Assessment, ensuring operational resilience and compliance with IEC standards to mitigate cyber risks and protect sensitive data.
