Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronic/Management Engineering;
• at least 2-3 years’ experience in defining strategies and policies for managing production plants and machinery;
• ability to analyze physical and logistical processes;
• experience in planning maintenance work and defining operating procedures;
  
• management of relations with suppliers and external companies.
• The profile is completed by excellent organizational and management skills, communication skills, autonomy, stress resistance, and problem-solving skills.

• Coordinating research and innovation activities with national and international partners in European, national, and regional projects;
• Contributing to the preparation of new project proposals and the creation of partnerships at EU level for the development of projects to be submitted in calls for proposals;
• Involving research centers, universities, and industries operating in various disciplinary fields;
  
• Support R&I activities with national and international partners (feasibility analysis, planning, progress management);
• Collaborate with technical managers to plan and manage activities at the center;
• Develop innovative technical content to achieve project objectives
• Prepare and contribute to the drafting of technical project reports.

• Experience in managing funded research projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, EIT, etc.);
• Knowledge of industrial technologies and processes in the field of Industry 4.0;

• Fluent knowledge of English, both written and spoken;

• Analysis of the state of the art and technological trends in Industry 4.0 at European and national level;
• Technical feasibility analysis of project proposals in collaboration with project partners;
• Development and elaboration of innovative technical content consistent with project objectives: definition of objectives, technical requirements, implementation methodology, description of experimental activities and results;
  
• Supporting the coordination of project R&I activities with national and international partners: feasibility analysis, planning, progress management;
• Collaborating with technical area managers and project partners for the organization and management of technical activities in the center: activity planning, progress reports, technical reporting;
• Preparing and contributing to the preparation of technical project reports;

• Good knowledge of i4.0 technologies and industrial processes in manufacturing;
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team;
• Good planning and uncertainty management skills;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• Degree in engineering, technical, and/or scientific subjects;
• 1-2 years’ experience in the role (preferred but not essential)

• INNOVATION PROJECTS: Industrial research, experimental development, and innovation projects (product, process, or organizational models) necessary to support the translation of innovative ideas into demonstrable concepts.
  
• DEMO AND TESTING: Development of demos, prototypes, Proof of Concept (PoC) and Test-Beds in the Industry 4.0 field, using available technical, technological and methodological environments and tools and know-how.
  
• ACCESS TO MADE AND PARTNER INFRASTRUCTURES AND TECHNOLOGIES: Provision of a wide range of services such as equipment rental, provision of technological infrastructure for platforms, laboratory facilities and production support for testing and prototyping.

• INDUSTRY 4.0 STRATEGY: Implementation of a plan for the adoption of digital technologies and strategic skills to ensure a company’s evolution towards Industry 4.0 in terms of process efficiency and effectiveness, in line with corporate objectives
  
• TECHNOLOGY SCOUTING: Identification of the most suitable technologies and technology partners to develop product and process innovation, defining a corporate technology strategy consistent with the trends characterizing the sector.
  
• TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING: Consulting and feasibility studies aimed at implementing technological, organizational, and management solutions to improve business processes with a view to Industry 4.0.
  
• VALIDATION OF i4.0 PROJECTS: Assessment of the adequacy of technologies, methodologies, and execution of innovation projects with respect to the objectives set and the state of the art.

The resource, working as part of a team of three people, will carry out accurate simulations of discrete events and virtual commissioning of industrial lines in the automotive sector, create and adapt automation software, and finally prepare the systems for use via Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality systems.

• Virtual modeling using dedicated software
• Project simulation using discrete event simulation models
• Simulation of the industrial line, or part of it, using Virtual Commissioning software
• Creation/adaptation of PLC code

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering
• 1-2 years’ experience as a Virtual Commissioning Engineer
• Experience, even limited, in PLC programming
• Knowledge of the Siemens suite (Plant Simulation, Process Simulate, NX-MCD, TIA-Portal, PLCSim) is desirable
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team
• Good written and spoken English
