Neodecortech is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of decorative surfaces for melamine-faced panels and flooring used in interior design.
The Neodecortech Group identified the need to undertake a Digital Evolution project aimed at identifying technological and Industry 4.0 solutions capable of increasing productivity, digitising processes, reducing operating costs and, consequently, achieving more efficient management capable of providing integrated and timely information to support various decision-making processes.
Among the main reasons that led the Group to undertake the project to review its Information Systems, we can highlight the following points:
Average age of managers
Different software platforms between the Filago and Casoli plants, despite being part of the same legal entity
Some suppliers of various software solutions are no longer active on the market.
Complex information system with numerous integration interfaces to maintain.
Warehouse procedures were also examined to ensure proper product management, traceability, and technical and technological procedures to optimise the movement of any material or product within the Group’s warehouses.
As part of Invest to Maintain, the activities for managing investments in the design and installation of new plants were reviewed and redesigned. Within these processes, the main benefits sought were the traceability of data on investments made within the company, the ability to manage investments across the Group, manage budget approvals, cost progress and documentation to measure the benefits of investments.
In particular, Neodecortech expects several industrial impacts from the implementation of the redesign that emerged during the innovation project.
The implementation of the Digital Evolution project will have a significant impact on the company’s competitiveness in the decorative paper manufacturing sector.
It is believed that the digitisation of production processes will have a significant impact on corporate sustainability.
By optimising the Plan to Schedule, Make to Deploy and Invest To Maintain processes, Neodecortech expects a significant increase in overall productivity. The digitisation of processes will enable greater flexibility and adaptability, allowing the company to respond more quickly to market demands. Reduced production times and the ability to deliver highly customised products will position the company as an innovative leader, helping to maintain and expand its market share.
The optimisation of production processes will reduce raw material waste and energy consumption, contributing to more sustainable production. The future implementation of advanced resource management solutions, such as efficient energy use and waste reduction, will result in a positive impact on the environment. In addition, the digitisation of logistics processes will contribute to more efficient supply and shipment management, reducing the overall environmental impact of the company’s activities.
