Introduction

Based in Bergamo, Lombarda Raccordi is an SME specialising in the production of copper, cast iron, brass and stainless steel fittings for industrial and plant engineering applications. The company is renowned for the quality of its materials, efficient production processes, and commitment to innovation.

The problem

Significant inefficiencies arose from the manual management of production and logistics processes, including loss of information, repetitive operations, long production times, returns due to non-compliance and an absence of useful historical data for analysis and continuous improvement. These issues resulted in increased operating costs, reduced productivity and delayed order delivery.

The solution

The project involved the introduction of a digital system for the real-time tracking and monitoring of production phases, achieved through process reengineering and the adoption of RFID, barcode and NFC technologies. Integrating information and physical material flows optimised the entire production cycle, reducing waste and improving quality control.

Technologies

RFID, barcodes, NFC for digital traceability

Real-time process monitoring system

Integration between internal logistics and information flow

Reengineering of logistics and production processes

Desired impacts

Thanks to automation and digital control, there have been tangible improvements in terms of efficiency, quality and time reduction. The company can now track every stage of production, process orders more quickly and accurately, minimise returns and ensure more reliable deliveries.
