Introduction

SICAD S.p.A. is a leading manufacturer of adhesive tapes for industrial and professional use, with a consolidated presence on national and international markets. The company stands out for its focus on technological innovation and the quality of its products, which are destined for various application sectors.

The problem

SICAD was faced with the challenge of integrating the Internet of Things into its production processes to accelerate digital transformation.

The appointment of an Industrial Digital Innovation Manager highlighted the need to support this strategic figure with specific skills to drive the adoption of IoT technologies and transform the collected data into concrete value for the company.

The solution

MADE developed a tailor-made training course for SICAD’s Industrial Digital Innovation Manager, with a practical and customised approach. The project started with an assessment of specific skills and needs, followed by theoretical lessons on IoT technologies and practical activities on devices such as Raspberry Pi.

The integration of cloud platforms for the collection and analysis of production data was also fostered, laying the foundation for the development of internal IoT projects aimed at process improvement.

Impacts

The project strengthened internal competencies, making the company capable of independently developing and managing IoT solutions integrated in the operational strategy. The intervention made it possible to launch a concrete project to monitor and process signals from production assets, replacing traditional systems and paving the way for smarter and more efficient resource management.

“This training course exceeded expectations, combining theory and practice in a highly effective approach. For SICAD, it was a turning point: it allowed us to successfully implement our main project and, above all, to acquire fundamental strategic skills. Today, we can interact with technology providers more competently, evaluate their proposals with a critical eye and integrate IoT into our operational strategy. All this has enabled us to strengthen our role as a leader in technological innovation in the sector.”
