MADE – Competence Center Industry 4.0 and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance the UAE’s i4.0 ecosystem.

Milan, September 15th 2022 – 
Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) signed with MADE – Competence Center i 4.0 a memorandum of understanding for several initiatives in the context of Industry 4.0, aimed at supporting the growth of digital competencies in the local ecosystem and establishing a Competence Center in Abu Dhabi.
MADE CC i4.0, wanted by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and implemented with the collaborations of 51 partners, including universities and industrial realities, supports Italian manufacturing companies, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises, in their transition path to Industry 4.0.

The agreement signed by MADE CC i4.0 is part of one of Abu Dhabi’s industrial development programs that includes significant government funding. The development of these initiatives represents an ambitious project for the UAE, with strategic significance for the entire region, aimed at industrial diversification and the realization of digital and ecological transitions, enabled by Industry 4.0 technologies. 

S. E. Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, underscores the strategic importance for the UAE of the plan, which aims to develop a true manufacturing and export HUB in Africa, the Middle East and Asia: “The agreement with MADE CC i 4. 0 is part of our efforts to achieve the ambitious goals set by Abu Dhabi’s industrial strategy, working closely with the best partners, in different areas of interest to enable industrial companies in the Emirates to move towards Industry 4.0 technologies. We believe that investing in human capital is critical to the success of our initiatives. Therefore, we will focus on developing the technical capabilities of the current industrial workforce to impart the knowledge and skills needed to be ready for the adoption of Industry 4.0. In addition, the strategy aims to create 13,600 new quality knowledge-based jobs.”
