Fan Motors Italia designs and manufactures motors and advanced solutions for industrial ventilation, combining innovation and efficiency for various application sectors.

As part of an industrial revamping program, FMI’s management decided to bring production back to Italy and implement the i4.0 Strategy service, which is preparatory to the implementation of further innovation projects, in order to gain greater awareness of its current situation and aim for a high level of efficiency.

The company’s objective is to increase its capacity for process control in order to optimise it, improve order management, and enhance the entire production process. This will enable the company to target new markets and develop products that are currently niche but which could represent the majority of future sales.

The Industry 4.0 Strategy involves implementing a plan for adopting digital technologies and developing the necessary skills to ensure a company evolves towards Industry 4.0, improving process efficiency and effectiveness in line with corporate objectives.

The current organisational context is assessed using the i4.0 strategy service to evaluate the level of digitisation in the R&D, purchasing, production, maintenance, logistics and quality areas. This analysis aims to identify the main strengths and weaknesses of each process, as well as opportunities to strengthen them, with the ultimate goal of improving the company’s digital maturity. Based on the results, an operational plan for digital transformation (roadmap) was defined to help the company achieve its strategic objectives.
