Introduction

Italpresse S.p.A. has been operating since 1954 in the design and production of hydraulic presses and complete pressing lines, serving both artisanal and large-scale industries across various sectors. The company stands out for its focus on continuous product and process improvement, maintaining a strong presence in both domestic and international markets.

The problem

Italpresse faces the challenge of evolving towards a ‘Digital Factory’ model, essential to maintain competitiveness in an increasingly digital and automated market. In a traditional manufacturing context, the company needs to update processes, methods, and technologies to increase production efficiency, overcoming current technological and organizational constraints.

The solution

The project involved a thorough analysis of the current state of production processes, existing hardware and software technologies, and operational constraints. Subsequently, the production management phases were validated or modified, with particular focus on decision-making and operational processes. A roadmap of Industry 4.0 digital technologies to adopt was then identified, prioritizing interventions to create an effective and sustainable Digital Factory. Finally, a customized evolutionary scenario was developed for Italpresse, defining a strategic vision for digital transformation.
